ShenChao's Mighty Campaign at Shanghai Port: A Cultural Icon

ShenChao, the legendary Chinese emperor who ruled over China from 645 to 711 AD, is often associated with his mighty campaign at Shanghai Port. This campaign was a significant event in Chinese history and was one of the most famous military campaigns of the Tang Dynasty.

The campaign began on March 29, 711 AD when ShenChao launched an army of 180,000 soldiers under the command of his son, King Zhuangzhong (later Emperor Shennong). The army was led by Liang Zhen, the leader of the army.

On April 1, 711 AD, ShenChao sent an envoy to the Duke of Gansu, asking him to help defend the port against the invading forces. The Duke of Gansu agreed and offered to send 10,000 troops to protect the port.

ShenChao then ordered his army to attack the enemy camp and captured the city of Nanjing. The Duke of Gansu was defeated and fled to Tibet, where he died later that year.

After the fall of Nanjing, ShenChao sent his son, King Zhuangzhong, as commander-in-chief of the army. He then marched into northern China and conquered several cities, including Luoyang and Jingzhou.

In 712 AD, ShenChao's army crossed the Yangtze River and invaded the Song dynasty. His army reached the capital of Wuhan and occupied it for several months before being forced to retreat after suffering defeat.

However, ShenChao's army was not defeated and continued to march northward towards the capital of Song. In 713 AD, they attacked the capital of Song and were victorious, but were unable to capture it because the Song emperor had been captured and imprisoned in Beijing.

ShenChao's campaign at Shanghai Port was also one of the most famous military campaigns in Chinese history. It was a significant victory for the Chinese Empire and was celebrated throughout China. The army of ShenChao's father, King Zhuangzhong, was known for their bravery and leadership during this campaign.
